1. Our Goal: KANZEN Knife-Level Performance

A Blade Built to Match the KANZEN Knife

The KANZEN Kitchen Shears was designed to match the sharpness of the KANZEN Knife, and like the Knife, it's crafted in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture.

We pushed the limits of what kitchen shears can do to achieve knife-level sharpness.

Slices Through Even Ripe Cherry Tomatoes
in a Single Cut

Most kitchen shears are made with standard stainless steel.

The KANZEN Kitchen Shears, however, uses molybdenum vanadium steel for 100% of the blade.

A Cut as Clean as a Knife's

Each pair is carefully sharpened and serrated by blacksmiths in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, to grip and cut cleanly through food.

The result is a cut surface as clean as if it were made with a knife.

We pursued the finest sharpness possible in a pair of kitchen shears.

2. About Half the Weight of All-Stainless Shears

An Ultra-Light 93g, Designed to Ease the Strain on Your Hand

Forged all-stainless kitchen shears are often very heavy, and can leave your hand sore after use.

The KANZEN Kitchen Shears, by contrast, weighs just 93g.

That's about half the weight of forged all-stainless kitchen shears.

Designed to Fit Comfortably in Any Hand

The handles are made of elastomer resin, further reducing strain on your hand.

We pursued comfortable handling as rigorously as we pursued sharpness.

3. Designed for Beauty

Beauty Born from Matte Black and Ultimate Simplicity

The KANZEN Kitchen Shears is finished entirely in matte black.

This unusual colorway for kitchen shears gives it a refined, understated beauty.

We also stripped away unnecessary features and ornamentation for a simple, clean look.

Reydent Coating Strengthens Rust Resistance

The matte black blade finish comes from our Reydent coating process.

Beyond its appearance, the Reydent coating also strengthens rust resistance.

This helps prevent rust and makes upkeep effortless.

*The Reydent process is not a fluorine coating. It is an electrochemical surface treatment.
